JUNIOR ENERGY ENGINEER
We are seeking a creative junior-level Energy Engineer who shares our unwavering passion for mitigating climate impacts and transforming the built environment. If you thrive on innovation and possess expertise in HVAC upgrades, electrification, decarbonization and/or energy modeling, we want you on our team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Energy Audits: Conduct on-site evaluations, comprehensive audit walkthroughs, and retro-commissioning of systems, driving impactful project designs. Organize notes and photos.
Data Analytics and Insights: Execute energy, emissions and building load analyses. Devise and manage system evaluation studies. Analyze energy data for trends and issues, utilizing data visualizations to inform strategic decision-making.
Project Management: Support decarbonization and energy efficiency projects from inception to completion.
Clear Communication: Craft compelling reports that effectively convey existing building conditions, data analysis, decarbonization assessments, and project outcomes.
Innovative Collaboration: Work closely with the RPM team to blend traditional methodologies with creative approaches for decarbonizing existing buildings.
Stay Ahead of the Curve: Continuously update your knowledge on emerging technologies and procedures.
Project Leadership: Devise and manage projects and budgets, including overseeing subcontracted services.
Relationship Building: Foster strong partnerships with vendors, installers, utility partners, and other stakeholders.
Team Development: Contribute to team learning and growth opportunities.
Skills & Qualifications (50% or more of the following)
Energy Modeling: Proficiency with WUFI, Carrier HAP, and/or WAP-approved software.
Building Automation: Expertise in building automation and control systems.
Electrification: Deep understanding of electrification requirements and systems.
HVAC Mastery: Knowledge of HVAC systems across all fuel types.
Power Solutions: Experience in power quality and reliability improvements.
Utility Efficiency: Familiarity with utility efficiency programs.
Advanced Systems: Knowledge of CHP, geothermal, lighting, and other systems.
Compliance: Understanding of MA building codes.
Logistics: This position requires travel to client sites, car ownership preferred.
Education and Experience
Educational Background: BS in engineering or a related technical field.
Professional Experience: 2-4 years of relevant experience.
Innovative Mindset: Ability to think outside the box.
Team Player: Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Travel: Ability to travel locally as needed.
